Chapter History
The Baltimore Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter was chartered on March 1, 1987 by 36 women in the Baltimore region. The 200+ members of the Baltimore Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter (BMAC) have been committed to serving the Baltimore metropolitan area for over 30 years. As members of the largest public service sorority, BMAC sorors have worked diligently in many social and political activities. We remain cognizant of the many challenges that affect African Americans and remain active and vocal in efforts to uplift our community and other regions of the global African American community.
The mission of Baltimore Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter as envisioned by the charter members is to provide assistance to the residents of the Baltimore Metropolitan area by:
- – Improving academic excellence for our youngest citizens
- – Providing job employability skill workshops and training
- – Developing a healthier and more productive living environment for the citizens of Baltimore
BMAC is a member of the Historic and Dynamic Eastern Region. Visit our Eastern Region website at www.easternregiondst.org. For more information about Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. visit our National website at www.deltasigmatheta.org.
